I haven't been 'myself' for about two weeks now. I was on abilify, lamictal, and Trazodone until I went to refill the Abilify and it was going to cost $700 on new insurance, so I was switched to Geodon. I tapered off of Zoloft about 2 weeks ago as well, and have stopped drinking because I haven't felt like it - which is great - but I'm not sure WHY I haven't felt like drinking. Things just don't seem real. I move and I feel like the game Trope, which is an Ipad ap, you move your finger on the screen and a trail fades over where your finger was. I walk and my feet feel tingly, but not enough to mis-step or feel numb. I'm having a lot of difficulty driving, especially at night, because I can't focus mentally or physically, the lights all start to blend and I can't perceive dept that well, I almost feel like I'm driving stoned but I'm not under the influence of anything. Last night I had a green arrow to make a left so I turned and another car almost drove straight into the side of me. I know I had a green arrow and that they had a red light. I even looked back right after I swerved and saw it. But then I got home and couldn't really believe that that was what happened. The other truck didn't even honk.....I almost have myself convinced that the other truck was never really there. I can't stand feeling like this and I'm 'mean' to my husband and he doesn't understand why, just tells me that I had better make an appt with the Dr. Well no kidding but it's Sunday. And you think I enjoy feeling like this? I want to scream at everybody and have no idea why I feel and can't even really explain how I feel. Help!! Input??

This sounds horrible I'm so sorry Since you say it started around two weeks ago, when you went off abilify and zoloft, and started geodon - I think it likely has to do with that, withdrawals/adjusting. The doctor would probably know best what to do. Hopefully you're just having withdrawals from the first 2 meds, and adjusting to the geodon. Cuz that would probably be better than an allergy to the geodon I think. (my son has geodon allergy)

If you are having a bad reaction to geodon, maybe pdoc could make a case for you to your insurance that you need to have abilify instead - if that one was working for you. I've heard of insurance companies doing that.

Lamictal and trazedone made me a little fuzzy and spaced out feeling.

We all react so differently to these things, let's see what the others have to say about experiences with it. Good luck and hope you can talk to doctor soon - hang in there, there's help on the way.

I get these detached feelings too where I'm not sure what is real and what isn't. I don't know if they have to do with meds or not. I was on Geodon for a short amount of time and it made me feel like I'd eaten an atomic bomb. Yuck. So I don't know if that helps. Maybe you're having a disassociative state?

I do agree that it could be a combination of withdrawal/adjustment, probably more from abilify withdrawal and geodon addition as I have never had a problem tapering off an SSRI such as the Zoloft I was on. The other thing that is driving me 'nuts' is jaw clenching. I keep finding that I'm mashing my teeth together

Just did a quick internet search on Geodon, and jaw clenching does seem to be a potential side affect.

Here is even a pc thread about Geodon, it's quite long but jaw clenching is reported here too:
