I think it might be a combo of it all, sleep like bipolar nurse said, meds for sure, the mood episodes themselves which causes loads of stress..anxiety ect, none of it helps cognition I don't think.

My memory was bad before meds, much worse after them. Now it's pretty good with no meds, no cycling, sleep is still not awesome, but I have been using brain training to help and fish oil ect. All togther it's improved a lot.

My pdoc did use to tell me to think of the memory problems from lithium as practising for alzhiemers. :/ Meds play a big role forsure.

I forget what day of the week it is, month and sometimes even what year! I have no real sense of time and forget to eat too. I'm good with appointments though because I use my phone and alarms. I always forgot to take my meds but, I don't take those anymore.
