I have been trying to medicate through my family doc and I'm feeling like I need to go back to see a pdoc. I am afraid to be doped up again and need to know what to do? This roller coaster is killing me....and I haven't slept well in a very long time.

Make sure you let the pdoc know that you are weary of being doped up. At the end of the day, it is still your decision what you put into your body. So just let the pdoc know. I also think it's useful to let your family doc refer you to someone he knows, in case they need to work together to help you.

Thank you sug, I really appreciate the advice. Just curious if that was you on the horse? I used to train and grew up on a farm. Love my horses....but my body is worn out at 30, so I don't train anymore but always willing to lend a hand with a stubborn one.

See if your family doctor can get you a referral to a PDoc. Once at the psychiatrist, share with him or her your fears of being too doped up. Also there are medications that don't dope you up. For example I am on Tegretol and Abilify, and they don't dope me up. If anything I need my dosage adjusted because I am still cycling on the medications.

EB - yea, that's me. He's my English Thoroughbred off the track that we raced before I took him over and have had him for 2 years now. He's awesome.
At 39 you still have a LOT of riding left in you!

Yeah a referall is always nice. I found mine and he is in the same system as my family doc so that worked out without meaning for it to.

Well aside from my mental issues I have been through 49 diff skin cancer surgeries....so the last 5 years has been hell. I have a walker, quarterhorse, and a rescue that is paint and quarter that was prego when we took her. So now we have our baby boy who is full of it, so in a way I still train...just not for others.
