Took her for the first appointment today. Her dad is paying. Her little brother will get them next year probably.

I figure a lot of kids get braces or glass (or sometimes both!) My oldest just got glasses a couple of months ago, but not a big shock because I'm blind without my glasses.

I think the worse part is you can't really bite into food , and keeping them brushed so many things can get stuck in the braces. Oh yeah I couldn't chew gum.. Its all worth it to have pretty teeth lol

when i was younger, i had a type of brace in this box thing.. which i only had to wear at night.. but it used to make me really ill- and after about a week they realised it wasn't working and just told me not to use it

Hello Moose, Every second child has braces now. Its part of growing up, and it can hurt but she will thank you for her beautiful teeth in a couple of years. I think the price of braces can hurt as much !. Best wishes to you both.
