Husband's out of town, leaving me with the four kids and two dogs to take care of...I can do this without any extra stressors. Okay, I bit off extra klonopin when I got a moment by myself today, but work is one of those extra stressors!

I had a phone call today. The school psychologist for my children's two schools called to let me know that she is concerned about son #4, the one with no dx's, no drugs, no management problems-usually A's, and pretty sharp. He is a bit dramatic, but other than that I haven't had any concerns. Now I get a message that he scored really high on some depression survey, so she talked with him and now she wants to talk with me.

Thank goodness there is no wine in this house, otherwise I would be throwing myself a pity party. It appears that another one of my genes is surfacing!

Oh Blue dang... That made me cry. I'm so sorry. Your kids are lucky to have you for a mom. Klons are so tempting, I could use a few right now too. Worrying about kids is the hardest stress of all I hope youngest is ok, I hope you all are ok. Sending love prayers hugs.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, Blue. I'm just feeling guilty. I feel responsible for all of the craziness around here.

Oh you should not be feeling guilty! You are doing a great job as a mother, and nobody is responsible for the genes. Plus, you wrote that he is "usually A's, and pretty sharp" and if I may venture a guess, he got the genes necessary to be "usually A's, and pretty sharp" from you.

Nobody has yet figured out a way to pass on some genes but not others, selectively. So the kids end up sharp but sometimes depressed.
Thanks for this!

I know you're right, Hammie. It is just so tough sometimes to watch from the sidelines as they go through their lives on a different path than the "norm". Yes, it is wonderful to have creative children who sometimes view the world a bit differently, but these qualities aren't always the ones that are celebrated by their classmates. Such is life!
