The medical/mental profession has been very busy because of me and my family for the past week. Here is a summary of what has gone on:
Last Wed.-call from school psych about child #4
Thursday-discussion with school psych. about suicidal/depression numbers
Monday am-ob/gyn visit for my problems
Monday pm-Husband and I had appt. with son #2's t because of his problems
Wed.(today)-I received three phonecalls-one from family doc.'s nurse to add blood pressure meds to my list, one from ob/gyn nurse to set up a procedure, and one from my pdoc to discuss my current meds
Wed. (again today)-meeting with my t

I am getting really down that I can't just be normal for a while. No appointments, etc. I told my t this, but she didn't get it. She said I could consider skipping a week with her. While I resent going, I need a visit with her just to put everything into focus.

And next Monday...I get a tooth pulled (and all of the above starts over)

It sucks getting old and crazier!!!

Oh Blue You certainly do have everything going on at once. I am so sorry... Is there anyway you can find even 30 mins a day where it is just YOU time? Please try and remind yourself that you can't do all, be all... You need to also care for yourself or you won't be there for anyone else.

I'm so sorry you have a zillion things happening at once

Please find a medical campus so all your appointments can be grouped together better. I'm sorry life is filled with so many appointments hopefully things resolve fast so you have less appointments.

Hi MM,

We don't have any medical campuses here, other than the hospitals, where all services can be found and scheduled. We have a psychiatric hospital, but there aren't any private practices operating from there, just outpatient services for those who have been referred or are doing followup to inpatient programs.

I agree, though, that grouping as much as possible is best. When I have to take a day off from work I have at least two appts. scheduled.

With so many children, I expect to attend to their needs, I just wish that my own needs weren't so great.

I know that all of us here battle the same types of problems, but sometimes it bites more than others.

Thanks, Christina. You are always so caring and I know that you have been going through much worse lately. I hope your pain is down.
I am going to be better about by myself time.
