I woke up for just nough time to go to the bathroom and take daily meds before falling back asleep again after taking Zyprexa last night. I just woke up again a few minutes ago. Still tired.

Try taking 2.5 mg. instead. That was the dose I took when I was on Z, and it allowed me to sleep and stay mellow without knocking me on my assets; 5 mg. did the same thing to me that it's done to you. It's worth a try.

I was on 10 mg Zyprexa for nine months & gained a ton of weight. I still have some left & my pdoc suggests that I take them only when I get insomnia. It really seems to work well if I'm desperate, but I'd never go on it on a regular basis again -- far too much weight gain at that dosage, anyways.
Thanks for this!

When I was on zypreca it was 35 mg , so sleeping 15 hours seemed pretty doable. I didn't but I am sure I could have easily. Being awake pretty much felt like being asleep or dead anyways. Walking dead..

I would try lowering the dose as bipolarnurse suggested and see if that helps but still works for you. I know that can ve really frustrating sleeping so much and feeling so tired.

Yeah, next time I get out of control (so a few more days, I guess) I'll take a half a dose of Zyprexa.

Hello comic! Did you just start up on them? I was on 10 mg Zyprexa. That made me sleep about 2 to 3 hours more each night (i.e. 12 hours). It took some time for my sleep levels to stabilize on that level. Now I'm on 2.5 mg Zyprexa and don't know yet how much that will make me sleep, but currently I sleep about 11 hours. This night and the one before I slept >8, and I started on 2.5 mg a week ago.
