I have been fighting a deep depression since January. It has been melancholic and then agitated as the months went on. In Feb. my doc started me on abilify which I could not tolerate. So now He put me on Pristiq 50 mg and is weaning me of Cymbalta. I am also on Lamictal 200 mg. What I have noticed in the first 7 days of this change is I feel totally mellow. I am not anxious or agitated or restless. I am not reaching for my bottle of Ativan all the time. I am enjoying the relief of these symptoms for sure. I guess my question is how do you know if your med is working? I thought I would feel elated or get a boost of energy when the Pristiq started to work. I have been sleeping 12 hours a night but am productive during the day. I am not as sad. But I don't exactly feel happy either. I feel sort of emotionless but am enjoying the even keel for once. Can anyone relate? What are your experiences and feelings when coming out of a depression?

I had the right combination of meds
until Oct. During that time I felt stabilized, things that use to upset didn't. I had more patience. I was actually happy and felt like it. I just started a new med and my pdoc said it would take 6-8 weeks for me to feel the difference.
