Hi. I have gained so much weight I can't stand myself I am on lithium abilify Zoloft my pdoc was going to add on topomax but changed her mind she says topomax causes weight loss does anyone take lithium and topomax

I took topomax and I lost a lot of weight. If ur weight is causing a concern, ur dr should consider that when prescribing meds. I also used to take Zoloft it made me gain weight also. Good luck!

I'm on topomax and lithium but I'm also on Zyprexa so they kind of cancel each other out.

If your BP meds are causing weight gain, you need to have a discussion with your Pdoc. Excess weight will just cause other health problems. There are weight neutral medications.

im on topomax and lost the fifty pounds all the other meds made me gain.

I've been a Lithium and was taking Risperdal
too. I'm now off R but plan to quit L as well. I'm hoping my new pdoc will agree to Topomax.
