Hello all I am having troubles in the bedroom and its really being a real big problem. I looked online and most my meds cause this and I even asked t doctor said lam octal can be a problem and than fanapt can cause it by reducing the excitement and I read that lithium can also cause this. So what do I do? Are there supplements I should try? He told me I might want to go to my general doctor and he can check things out for me and make sure it's nothing physical and may perscrie Viagra or something like it. I would like to go the supplement route because I'm 24 it's embarrassing to have this problem at my age, it sucks! Any advice would be great, I would like to mention before I was up on meds this was never a problem. And it hasn't been a big problem because I don't have anyone to have sex with until recently.

My heart breaks for you, man. If you're looking for supplements, check out GNC.com under their Sexual Health, Men's Vitality section. Here's the link.

Men's Vitality - Sexual Health - GNC

Having never taken any of these type of supplements myself, I don't have any advice on which are good or not, and I'm not sure that their effects would over power the side effects of the psychiatric meds.

I think this would be a good topic to bring up to your MD. You never can tell what might be causing it, so its best to get professional help.

I know its embarrassing, but would you rather have a quick fit of embarrassment in the doc's office and pharmacy, or the crippling embarrassment of not being able to perform for your partner?

Best wishes and good luck.

Hey wondered where u been brother! Lamictal killed my sex drive. Too bad pdoc can't just write you for viagra or something, pain to have to go to different doc.

Don't feel bad about the 24, I used to have drunk and stoner bf's with the same problem who were around that age (like my ex husband when many years ago).

I hear ginseng is a good herbal for that sort of man's health. But make sure with pdoc that whatever supplements you take won't interfere with the psych meds and all that.

Been there its the worst! I take lexapro and lamactil and when I first started it I could orgasm. I could get aroused and have sex but no climax. I could go for hours but never finish, fun for her I guess lol but it was so aggravating. That went away after a couple weeks. I was 25 then, 30 now. I've still been on the meds. for me I get erections all the time but I have no drive. My psychiatrist prescribed Viagra but I never took it. My advice would be to try to relax. Are you comfortable w her/him? That's first. It can make a big difference, did for me. Take your time. Are you new to the meds? Sometimes those side effects go away after a few weeks to months? I would try the Viagra honestly if that doesn't work. You'll be happy you did. I know it's embarrassing. I'll never forget being 25 dropping of the prescription for it even. Try some relaxation techniques and tell them what really turns you on to try that first. Other Viagra. Good luck. I've been there it'll be good.

Good point everyone. I'll just suk it up an go to my doctor. I've been on these meds for about three-four months, it has always been a problem even when masturbating but I could get off and I was not a huge problem although it did take a lot of porn watching to get there. But never hard enough to stick anywhere. I can't even ejaculate! I went off fanapt for a few days because I was out and I could ejaculate so I know to med related. I'll try and get to y doc next week. Thanks
