I have a little bit of extra money and I am planning on so many diff ways to spend it, when I should probably save it or pay a bill. Shopping just makes me happy though lol, it's like taking a happy pill
 How do you guys resist impulse shopping? I would have already spent it today but it's a holiday so everything is closed. |

lol so am I...trying to fix my credit. I just paid off an almost 2000 credit card bill! To some that may not be that much but I am only 24 lol

I agree w/ middle. I'm a disaster, but I made a plan w/ the help of a friend, and i'm trying to stick to it.

I"m doing it now OMG I am looking for a pool that I can't possibly afford and want so bad. I am in such terrible shape financially but there are so many nice pools, gotta have one, its hard to return a pool like I can jeans and tees.

Recently I started paying my bills pretty much ON payday. So the money comes out of my account pretty much immediately and I don't have the money to do any impulse shopping.
That said... this doesn't always work and some days... I just don't give a damn about my bills and will buy whatever I want. Also, what really helped for a while was to ask myself "will my therapist be mad at me if he were standing here watching me buy this". Usually the answer was "yes"... and that tactic only worked some of the time.

ahhhh retail therapy... The last time I was flipping out and wanted to shop. I headed to town and saw the "everything is a dollar store. 20 bucks buys lots of things. Took care of the "OMG I have to buy stuff right now"
Cheap fix !

i think because 2 of my docs have recommended water therapy it is my reason for buying this pool, but I am using my grandsons birthday as the excuse, I found 3 in the Chicago area that can be shipped, they are new and in good shape. 'we got the catalog from them and we are going to call them too. I want this pool by june 5 so I have to get a move on it.

Oddly enough, I'm not the shopper in my house. My husband is. His ADD really drives the "I need it now!" part of his brain sometimes. But... on my end, I'm terrible at saying no. So, I can't complain.

I shopped big time during a two month manic episode and a one month hypo. I spent hundreds of dollars and not at the dollar store.

I have to go into walmart w/ only cash. I can't bring anything else. I buy s**t I don't need or want, and then feel horrible about it. I go with a list and a friend that understands.

I spent most of our money last manic episode. Spent it on crafts and stuff. I wish I could go shopping right now. But at least I can control it right now knowing I have no extra money! Going to five below on Friday payday though. Jewelry and nail polish, here I come!
