One way to climb out of the suicidal thinking pit for me is to shift my thoughts to a positive mode and force myself to think of 3 good things.

1. I am moving out west and starting a new life in 3 weeks

2. I have an unconditionally loving Goddess of my own understanding

3. I have a husband with a big heart who truly loves me

1. My cat is hilarious
2. Some of my students have been having a tough year, and they know that I love them and I know that I've been a source of comfort for them.
3. I got hired into a permanent position at the start of the year, and I'm grateful for that. Job security ftw!

Nice thread starter...

1. My perfect, adorable newborn who was born after a terrifying pregnancy that could have gone very wrong, but didn't
2. Family who cares about me (even if they stress me out)
3. A meaningful job

I someties need to be reminded that there are many positives in my life. When the depression kicks in, I forget all of this stuff!

1. I have friends who will go to the ends of the earth -and the armpit of Mississippi, where I was in the psych ward - for me.

2. I can make practically anything that I set my mind to.

3. Even though it gets dangerous, I still enjoy mania. My self esteem doesn't suck then.

This is an exercise my t has me do each day, and some days are really tough!

For right now:
