Your body doesn't absorb the drug well without food, which is why they tell you to take it either with a meal or a fatty snack. I just don't like feeling drowsy all evening, which is why I take Geodon with my other bedtime meds and eat something with it.

And I take Celexa too, haven't noticed any problems in combination w/ Geodon or any of the other mess of meds I take for BP, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

I am. One thing I've noticed is a bit of hair loss. That's about it though. I really do not like the hair loss...but I like the benefit of the med combo.

I was losing a lot of hair too, for quite a while. I could afford it though, as I still have plenty. Now the hair loss has stopped. Who knows what could have caused it....I take a lot of meds for different conditions. I've also been under severe stress the past couple of years, and that can contribute to hair loss as well.

I lost 50 lbs shortly after starting on Geodon. Ive been taking it about 5 years now. I take 80 mgs 4 times a day and I usually take it with a meal or light snack. It helps me a lot. I've had very few manic episodes while on the Geodon and that's a big improvement. It doesn't make me sleepy. but I have noticed my hair is thinning. For me its been a miracle drug.

Wow, that is some med list you've got there---you have me beat by miles!

I wonder though if you weren't on such high doses of antidepressants, you might not need as much of the mood stabilizers? Just a thought, I'm sure your pdoc knows best.
