I've been on depakote and geodon before seperately, at different times. But i've been on them both together for about two weeks, and i've developed intense paranoia and i may be hallucinating.
I don't know if there's really demons/ghosts in my house... but i'm on this website, so i'm leaning towards hallucinations. I should tell my pdoc, huh? I have an appointment today. I don't know if he'll send me back inpatient, only been out for six days >.> Could it be the two meds in combonation? I have a history of intense paranoia and delusions, so it could be possible, but my hallucinations have never been this real. Always far, they're getting closer... and more ominous.

I'd tell your pdoc and when you tell him I'd frame it kind of the way you have here.
Since taking the two meds together you've had intense paranoia and possible hallucinations. You're worried that the combination of meds (or one of the medications) is causing this and can you go off of them to see if the paranoia and hallucinations get better. I wouldn't mention inpatient to him directly but if he brings it up say you want to stay out of inpatient and could you try going off the medication first. |

I'm such a *****, i can't sleep because i'm scared it will happen again. 5am and I feel like something is watching me ready to pounce. I keep checking closets and I know intellectually what's in there, but I think something bad is going to be in there like someone/something I dont' know...
Should probably mention that to him too.... idk...

Something to keep in mind ... Many AP's can cause hallucinations. Just because you have hallucinations does not automatically mean a one way ticket to an inpatient ward. Medications changes are usually the first option.
Try using more Grounding skills. But certainly talk to your Pdoc about it. Good luck ![]()

talk to your pdoc, s/he's the one that knows about med interactions. After a couple of months of feeling better if you think pdoc over-reacted talk to him /her about solutions other then inpatient. If you don't feel confident with the solution start looking for a new pdoc.

Definitely talk to your pdoc about it. I was on that same combination a few years ago and the worst side effect I got was a severe tremor (think of a little animal like a bunny when it's scared -- that's how I looked just sitting or standing nevermind when I tried to do anything with my hands)...

I looked it up in the Lancet interaction guide, & they report possible exaggeration of symptoms for people with:
Bipolar disorder Depression Schizophrenia Anxiety Sleep disorder This is a general guide. Talk with your pdoc about your specific situation.

I'd definitely talk to your pdoc about it. You don't want that kind of thing to get out of hand. Also, from what I understand, they can't hospitalize you unless you are a danger to yourself or others, or can't take care of yourself (i.e. not eating, bathing, etc.). So your pdoc probably won't send you back inpatient, especially since you just got out.
