went to pdoc today, lots of med changes. starting to see the light again. i am a rapid (freaking whirlwind) cycler so I can go from dancing on the moon to the depths of dispare in just a matter of hours. so I hope the med changes at least slow it down some and level me out, i am exhausted.

Hope the meds work for you and you can get some relief. Rapid cycling is challenging. Good luck.

I'm curious how you tell the difference between very frequent and intense changes in mood, which can be a hallmark of BPD, which I see in your list of diagnoses, and an ultra-ultra-rapid cycling bipolar, which is very unusual? Can you tell the difference between a BPD mood-change and a bipolar mood change, when it's the one or the other?

If I'm not mistaken Ultra, most BPD mood changes have an external stressor. Where as a BP swing has little or no external stimuli associated w/ it.

"very frequent and intense changes in mood, which can be a hallmark of BPD"

I didn't know that

I've always thought I was a rapid cycler, (even though I was originally diagnosed BP 1) because that happens with me where I can feel great one minute than totally switch... it's also usually an "outside" factor that "triggers" my switch, and then after a few hours I'm usually back to normal. Hmmmmm...

honestly I cant tell what feelings belong to what diagnosis'. I have found that completely tearing apart and analyzing every mood and thought just makes me crazy (er) LOL. I just try my best to deal when I am in the moment and to be very honest with my pdoc so he can adjust my meds if needed. for those that were on here a day before yesterday they saw me at a very dark and depressed moment, today....i am flying high. never know with me i just try to ride the roller coaster with grace and a lot of prayer.
