No cable or Internet so sorry for all the posts: I'm currently on 450 mg of lithium, 300mg of Lamictal and 1.5mg of rispidal. Would you consider this cocktail a low dosage for manic mood swings?

We each have our different cocktails that work. The lamictal is in the middle of a therapeutic dose, rispidal depends if your Titrating (my boys took only 1 mg.) but therapeutic is 1-6 mg, and lithium according to drugs.com theraputic dose is around 1800 mg. You need to remember you are on 2 separate mood stabilizers so your dosage may be different.

I agree we are all so different. In my mind if your symptoms can be controlled with lower doses then all the better.
Did you just start the meds ? If so you may have to wait a little bit to see how you feel. If your symptoms are still there or are getting worse than tell your PDOC. He might adjust them. I am not a good example, I have been told I am treatment resistant bipolar 1. What that means is over the years I have been on all the different meds for bipolar in different combos with not much relief. With most meds I had to stop because of intolerable side effects. They probably would have worked if I could have stayed on them. Good Luck |

Therapeutic dose doesn't depend on the mg - just your serem levels. Someone can be taking 1000mg a day and have a 1.2 level and someone else may need to take 1800 a day just to get to 0.9 |
