I talked to my therapist, she said yes there may be a chance of getting to the point that I'll be stable enough to be without meds . It involves almost impossible environmental situations, and for me to give up/deal with my eating disorder. She also talked about dealing with trauma but I don't have trauma so I have no idea.

Anyway, I'm going to try my best to be out of the mental health system and healthy by this time next year.

That sounds like a great goal to be working towards MM Looks like you've got a lot of work ahead of you though!

And hey.. if you can kick the butt of your ED, and then find out that you still are happier with meds? At least you'll have kicked your ED in the butt right?!

my husband would really like me to talk to my psychiatrist about this but I know the looks that I usually get when I even mention it. its like people get temporary stricken with fear. My husband does not want me unmedicated at all! originaly I went there to solely get therapy but since we're moving in a year I do not want to have to move into another mental health system. I also feel like a hypocrite for planning to keep my son in the mental health system and on medication. thank you guys for all your support and I may need a lot coming this year.

Eh... do you have to tell the pdoc right away? Since you're still going to be on the meds for a while, I don't see a huge point in rushing. Why not get things like diet and whatnot... well... get as much as you need ready to go "Look, I've already made THESE changes so I think I am going to be able to try making these ones too!"

lol.

that's what I plan on doing red. He's not a pdoc that's for meds but has assured me, repetitively that I need it.

Great for you, MM. Do hope it works for you. With my mixture of diagnoses I expect seriously that getting off meds is way distant for me, if even possible.

But great for you. You have established a date and informed others of your goal. That's great fantastic goal setting. May you be successful! We'll all be here to support you.

Aways be good to yourself.
Thanks for this!
