I did a course on this many years ago and 10 years on I still use it a follow on from this if you know about " Mindfulness " its realy excellent , mainly used in the eastern countries but now worldwide it is mainly about" living in the moment ." I wish you well |

Thanks, the research I have done excites me quite a bit. The running thoughts are truly one of the main reasons for my mania. So if i can learn to control them I should be able to manage my BP a little better.

I am going through (done in 2 more weeks : ) a version of CBT called Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is mainly CBT but incorporates a mindfulness component. I am finding it ssssuper useful and approachable. I highly recommend it. Also, if you have any portions of your past that you need to make peace with, DBT has an unual but effective approach, for me at least. It is called radical acceptance and it has really helped me move on from a difficult memory/situation.

Thanks for the reply. How long have you been in that therapy?

8 weeks now... and I am definitely feeling more "in control" than i was before. I just feel like I am not as much at the disposal of life and circumstance anymore. It seems like I have some way to interact that helps me "drive the boat" instead of just getting swallowed up by the ocean.
