If big farma mis-stepped and pandered a drug treatment that to its horror resulted in a cure, permament drug free resonable happiness would you miss that grim satisfaction at having maintained as a dark moodreleases. My clinicly depressed friend said absoutely not.

I don't have a grim satisfaction about anything? I'm not sure I understand what you mean?

If there was ever a cure that just needed to be done once and then poof, cured... I would gladly take it and I wouldn't regret that.

I just don't imagine that ever being a possibility without having severe complications in some other way.

Big Pharma is never going to come out with a cure for damn sure to anything MI related ... why ? Because they would lose gazillions of dollars .. Not to mention that Bipolar and every other MI is so unique there would never be a way to treat everyone or even a decent percentage. . I dont buy the " its a Chemical inbalance thats a theory not any where near fact based.

A cure would be lovely .. But I would rather see a cure for Cancer first .

Yeah, totally what Christina said... if they are going to find a cure for something, it'd be a lot better for them to find cures to things that are definitely fatal. Because 1) we can live with the bipolar and 2) if terminal illnesses were cured, there'd be more doctors available to help with mental illness

I agree. If big pharma actually made a pill that was a cure, they'd be out of business pretty quick, and all those gazillions of $$$ that they make every year would go bye bye. I mean a cure for anything - from bp to cancer to diabetes. It's big pharma's business to make drugs that help but don't cure. If we all got healthy they'd be toast.
However, if someone did find an actual cure for my bp and GAD and OCD, I would take it with no hesitation at all.

I have no idea what this grim satisfaction is you speak of, but even so, I concur Christina's post 100%.

As usual I am misunderstood. Perhaps should not make light of serious stuff. Big farma would NOT go under with a cure. Are u crazy (don't answer that), they would just recall it with the FDA's blessing. Gim satisfaction might better be said as tentatibve relief as is a better phase really taking over, replacing a tortured perception¿ And Yaah, let's not be selfish. By all means divert all Presearch to cancer trials..

I know I would love a cure.
If big pharma had a cure for anything big, from cancer to bipolar, how can they live with themselves if they hid it to make money.

I have never understood this.

There is no incentive for pharmaceutical companies (or any other company for that matter) to behave in a moral fashion. They are driven to the bottom line in order to keep their shareholders happy. Shareholders, in large part, don't care about the morality of the company they are investing in.
