I am a little confused as to what constitutes a hallucination vs. a illusion. Here is what I experience with alarming frequency. Husband will be driving the car with myself as a passenger. I look and a tree, pole, lamp post, etc. will morph into a very detailed demon. It is frightening to say the least. Does anyone else experience this? I really need to know if I'm alone in this experience and if I need to be telling my pdoc .

I would tell Pdoc just like you did now because you don't want that to happen when your driving.

This has been going on for at least a few years off and on. Weird thing is it hasn't really happened when I drive. At least not exactly. Meaning I do mistake shadows as people but never do they morph into the supernatural realm. My guess is because driving takes my full concentration and doesn't leave room for seeing things? Idk

I'd tell my doc. I'm currently dealing with seeing fleeting images, starting "out of the corner of my eye" but sometimes progressing into my center of vision. Mine is just grey though, more like an illusion. You describe yours as more complex - that sounds more like a hallucination. I've done a lot of reading on it tonight alone - lol. If you're interested in doing your own reading here's a good database: darn it, can't post links yet...not enough posts... if you look up National Center for Biotechnology Information, you'll find it.

Tell your doc, so that the burden's not entirely on you!
