A few years back I was on Abilify and after about 8 months of taking the pill (it only really worked slightly) I ended up with uncontrollable and painful shaking of my body. It was the worst experience I have ever felt and I would not wish it upon anyone!
Luckily I went to a doctor right away and they were able to stop it and treat it with Benadryl (Strange right?) and it didn't become a permanent thing. Thank my lucky stars! However, my doctor just prescribed me another anti-psychotic with one of the side effects being TD. I was wondering if anyone knows if having TD once before increases my chance of getting TD again because of this drug? I'm afraid to start the meds because I've had TD before and I'm afraid of it becoming a permanent thing this time around since I've already had it once. So does anyone know if it increases my odds?

I got TD on ability after 2 weeks. I've been taking seroquel for a year or two and don't have it. (I took/take very low doses of both)
If you experience any similar side effects you can stop right away and it should prevent it from being permanent. Just don't ignore any physical signs. |

I would say that yes, you would have an increased risk of TD on another antipsychotic, but like Confusedinomicon said, it's not guaranteed, and I'm not a doctor or anything.
