This is from last year but I thought you might be able to relate:

Here We Go Again - Voices

The tv is off. In fact it's quiet in here but the voices are back. Sounds like talk radio is on low. Kind of entertaining. At first, though, it scared me because I could really almost make out what they were saying. These are much more real than the others! I felt this out-of-body feeling you do when you're really scared- a swelling, expanding feeling of fear melting into disassociation.
After a few minutes, I realized that the voices will pass and its just all part of "it".
I think it's the fish tank this time. It's the only thing that's making noise except my CPAP and that's just whirring.

I'm not sure what it is, but the house can be quiet of electronics and just me and my dog but I hear murmurs sometimes. Don't know if its my hearing problems because I do have some, or the AC or just me. Weird though. Esp at night. I do relate.

Moose, it scares me when the noise stops. For me it's like the calm before the storm.
