does anyone get what they consider to be a "craving feeling"
but for no specific thing, just something that can't be satisfied and causes restless and anxiety?

Hi tc2012,

All the time, I go looking for something to eat, but nothing looks good. I try listening to music, but wind up going from song to song to song every 30 seconds. Sometimes I just get so restless I just keep pacing back and forth through my house. Usually it's a combo of of all three and I'm still just as restless and anxious as before I started doing anything.

Thanks for this!

Oh Yea,

Use to get it all the time after I came out of the hospital. My brain was used to going a million miles a minute and having thousands of thoughts and ideas..... then the break..... then hospital.... then constantly unsatisfied with what was going on and always wanted to do more, but felt like I could not. I was moving around a lot and was very restless. Went away after about a month or two. Try writing or watching an old show you used to enjoy, go for a walk, talk to a friend, go do whatever you're comfortable with doing. Going to the mall and getting a CD worked for me. I say, good day
Thanks for this!

Hi and yes, all the time. It feels like an empty hole that needs filling, or a hunger/thirst that needs satisfying. It's kinda like the feeling where you think you're forgetting something important.
I usually cope with the "craving" feeling in a bad way, by self-medicating either with meds, or recreational drugs. I cannot handle the feeling and it won't pass so I must quell it down with something. I know it's wrong but I can't stop until I learn a better way.
Good luck, take care and keep us posted.

All of you have explained exactly what I am talking about. I feel so bad for my son. He has Bipolar 2. He tries so hard to do things that will help him. He is on Lithium, it has helped his moods. Recently he started taking Risperdal, but has not seen any results yet. If anything it has made his "cravings" worse. I understand now why BP people are so restless and can't focus at times. I wish I could help him.

Thank you!!

yeah, I do this too.

Or I decided to go for a shopping spree only to feel everything the stores have to is "stupid". Clothes, make-up, jewelry. Stupid, stupid, stupid. So I go seek some restaurant or some place to eat but everything feels wrong too... may save me money, but it's unnerving at times.

Definitely. I can't seem to find anything that will satisfy me. Typically I end up eating either to find myself over indulging or cooking different things which i won't even touch. I flip through the channels on the tv a million times, look through facebook, whatever I can but nothing helps. It's greatly annoying.

For me it tends to be very specific. Not random. When elevating into hypo mania, massively impulsve

Sure do. It's so frustrating because no matter what, I just can't satisfy it.

I wouldn't call it craving, but yes, I often get restless and bored and nothing can satisfy me.
