I just saw some interesting information by a Dr. Millar who has Bipolar. He states that his Bipolar was eliminated with this natural trace element. it is different then the Lithium prescribed because it is combined with Orotate Acid instead of carbonate. From what I learned this is supposed to pass the brain barrier and get absorbed where as pharmaceutical Lithium does not get completely absorbed. I am wondering if anyone has any unbiased information on this or has personally taken it? Also looking for what the result was and at what dosage. What I could tell it is recommended for 120mg two times per day which is only 10mg of straight Lithium. Thanks
P.S. He has a website is the lithium doctor. I am not selling his stuff just wanted to direct people to some of the research information for there our knowledge.

I haven't tried it. But understand it to be a natural form of Lithium. Guessing it's a safer route than the usual Lithium. It's interesting.

If you ask your doctor, he'll tell you that there's no research on it in humans. So he won't advise you to take it (I think it's OTC). My guess is it might work for minimal affective symptoms, but not for moderate/major symptoms. People who advise patients to take medication that is not evidence-based are fools, and are actually instilling a message in patients that is damaging. They should be encouraging, or at least not discouraging, evidenced based treatments, such as lithium carbonate. Lithium carbonate is also safer than once thought because it is now prescribed in lower doses (less toxic) and XR is available. **lithium orotate hasn't been systematically evaluated**

I have to have blood work every so often on lithium carbonate, so wouldn't you have to get blood work to monitor things on this other Lithium?
