Hi everyone,
I have recently been prescribed Remeron 15mg with Wellbutrin
and Buspar. Has anyone taken this combination for Bipolar?
Also, I am in the middle of a disability appeal and I've began
obsessing on it to such an extreme I am afraid I am going
to have a manic episode.

Remeron is an anti-depressant, so you're on two AD's and an anti-anxiety medication. I think it's a bit unusual to not be taking some sort of mood stabilizer alongside the other meds, but I'm assuming your principal issue is depression (and anxiety), so it hasn't been considered necessary.

I understand many people get denied disability on the first try, so it's not uncommon to have to keep trying. It must be very stressful -best of luck.

This Doctor that I saw 4 months ago
prescribed Remeron. I told him I had
taken Lithium in past, of course, he
probably know every damn thing.
I guess that's why he's working for the
county. I absolutely hate Doctors. Their
big egos make me want to puke sometimes.
I am supposed to go back to see this jerk
in 2 weeks and I will ask him why he is
so interested in making me manic? Are you
trying to kill me Mr. Knowitall? Puke! Puke!

Maybe he's not incompetent but just disagrees with your previous pdoc and thinks he's doing what's best for you -who knows. But clearly you two need to have a conversation about your symptoms, how you experience things, and how he is interpreting your symptoms and how you experience things. Obviously clear up, as you say, the issue of triggering mania, what his take is on this in your case. One thing I've noticed on PC is that many pdocs won't offer information or opinion unless asked directly. I hope your appointment goes well.

I took Remeron with another antidepressant. I don't recommend it. I just wanted to sleep all the time and eat. I was prescribed in the hospital. My doctor told me it was often given to older people to help with appetite. The situation may be different for you though. Good luck!

Not all BP'ers go manic if they take an AD . I am BP I and I will go manic so I do not take AD's

I know most doctors prefer not to offer AD'S to BP I ... But it seems many BPII take them fine .

Best to write down specific question or concerns so that you are able to get the answer you seek during your appt.

If you are unhappy with your Pdoc can you find a new one?
