I really want blue hair, I'd love midnight blue with aqua streaks!

I'm going to salon today, currently I'm dark blonde with light blonde highlights. I'm worried about not looking professional in my job, I'm a cfo & run a business, but it's ok to be creative right? I don't want to freak anyone out at work or business meetings with clients.

Maybe I could just do my usual blonde highlights with some aqua streaks like peek-a-boo? I'm not sure what I should do(?)

Maybe clip ins?

From what I seen on my more punky friends these bright colors look great until you wash them for the first time... and some don't really fade gracefully.

It depends on the culture of your company. Check out the dress code and see if unconventional hair color is forbidden. If not, I say go for it. Your hair color doesn't change the fact that you are good at your job!

I did blue hair, only I have jet black hair so it was like a double bleach process and I came out with blues ranging from dark to sky blue. I loved it, hubby not so much. I recently decided to go a bit more 'normal' and did an auburn color only now it looks as though I have auburn hair with blue highlights. I love it even though it's not what I truly wanted. Just remember going with an unconventional color, your hair may not change back as easily as you think. Good luck!

Sounds like fun! I have never had my hair any crazy colours, I just have too much of it for it to be cost effective. I hope it makes you feel good, whatever you choose to do

Special Effects is the brand to go with. Manic Panic and ALL the others are weak and fade very fast.

Hey sis

I tried dying my hair cobalt blue last week.
What a disaster! Turns out my hair is just wayyy too dark, you're so lucky you're blond so you won't have to endure a bleaching nightmare.

I bleached my hair twice, for HOURS. Even tried dying it twice, ended up looking like a friggin mermaid, with shades of blue ranging from Cobalt at the roots, electric in the middle and aqua at the ends!

I was not a happy camper and dyed it black the next day. I was actually in tears, been wanting blue hair for years, but corporate environments generally frown upon it, so I figured I work for a salon, I may as well... only to look like a mermaid in the end.

I agree, if there's no policy that says your hair can't be blue, go for it! I think you'd look stunning and can't wait to see the pics!

You have to bleach even with blonde hair. There is no direct return to a natural blonde hair colour in case of emergency. in my case I had to go darker (I chose a deep red) to cover after 3 hours in hair salon, then let that grow out from pixie to pixie to get back to natural. That's OK when you're 22. Not sure I'd recommend in corporate environment.

I've adopted power hair and heels, works wonders for credibility. Would hate for you to jeopardize yours, it's hard to come by. Suggest clip on.

I miss my crazy hair!! I've done all colors of the rainbow except orange and yellow. Green didn't work out well so I usually stuck to purples blues pinks and reds. Unfortunately I'm a teacher now and even though I work at a private school I don't think I could get away with it. But I do think I might be able to get away with a streak or two if I have one of my students who is in Cosmo do it for me! I could say it was her reward for working so hard in my class lol. Good luck! If you do decide to go for it I second using special effects. That was always the best for me!

Thanks guys We didn't have time at the salon cuz I got there so late.
But we talked it through. My lady has bright purple hair with blue streaks.
She says blue streaks could bleed onto the blonde and I could end up with green especially at the ends, mermaid effect like Lia's saying
Our plan for next month is to do 2 triangles of blue going up in the back. Will look groovy when my hairs up in a ponytail, and will see some streaks underneath when it's down.
The brightness only really lasts about 2 weeks, like Venus saying. To make it keep better, I can wash with cold water brrr... and wash it as little as possible (not a problem!). Then in shower just wash carefully going up to down to keep the blue off the blonde. I'm excited.
As far as work, I guess I write the policies. Not sure what I'm so worried about lol. Guess I'm worried about some conservative clients and that it might hint at my bp. I'm uptight about the bp & people possibly thinking I'm incompetent or unreliable, which sometimes I am but I hide it pretty well. They'll probably just think it's interesting & fantasize about what color hair they'd like to get.
