I started taking geodon 40 mg only at night 2 nights ago. Yesterday and today I have gotten headaches and feel nauseous come mid afternoon. I've read that if you don't take it twice a day you can get withdrawal like symptoms when it wears off. Could I be feeling that already or is this just a coincidence?

A coincidence, likely. Drink more liquids to help with headaches and nausea. Sucking on hard ginger candy may help with nausea. If nausea does not go away within a couple of weeks, tell the pdoc.

I take it twice a day and I do get headaches when I dont take it every 12 hours, I can always tell when I havent had my meds on time. It is a bizarre thing because my pdoc was surprised too. Now I take a small dose in the morning and a larger dose at night but many people have no problem with taking it all at once. I think I was started on it twice a day so that I would be properly medicated over the 24 hours with no wear off effects.
The side effects for the first few days do wear off after about 2 weeks. I had a whole lot of side effects at first but they wore off really quickly and the med started to really work in 10 days. |

I take it at night only and have never really had any side effects, unless I happen to miss my nighttime meds, which will usually flip me into hypomania within 48 hours. I'm THAT sensitive. God help me if I ever try to go off meds entirely!
