I made some salvia tea from my homegrown salvia (grown as a SPICE. Is good on rabit meat. Or any meat...). I didn't drink it to get high, but for my sore throat.

And I am oh-so-chill. Not stoned, just calm... such a strange feeling. Last night I drank a cup of salvia tea before sleeping and had nice dreams for a change. Was able to go through my past memories that popped up peacefully without spinning into memory spiral and overthinking of past and future and all. Maybe this is my trippy.

But I am def adding this plant to my herbal regimen. And my throat feels better too.

Be careful with salvia. I've been told it's even more potent than marijuana!

they made that illegal too in the US. hope it keeps helping and does not get to a strange point. Before it was illegal, I used to love the chill and genuinely happy feeling I got from it. There was one time I purchased a different brand and it messed me up though. Then it became illegal... glad it helped the sore throat also.

it's illegal in the USA?

well, I don't have to worry about brands, because I am planting it at home, so I am sure nothing else was added.

I don't wanna use it daily long term... but maybe it can help me to dwelve into some things.

I've learned and know way too much about this drug. In four words. IT IS VERY BAD.
Glad to hear ur just sprinkling some on ur food.(poison)
Also, I'm not sure if you heard last about those human 'zombie' attacks? As in a college student after a party was found eating his friends face...off. Mid consumption. Yes. He was on salvia. It is a hideous, and a habit of any kind is not good. It is sooooooopp sooooooopp bad. Baaaaaaadddddddd. It would be safer to even sprinkle marJuana on ur food, by about 1,000 percent.

In addition--- meditation brings you to ur inner self. Therapy lets u delve into things. Just a healthy suggestion

Is it illegal? What is in it that would make it illegal? I agree it sounds like it is good for the soul if it relaxes you and you get good dreams.

I will research it some and let you know what I find out.

Hope your sore throat is feeling better

I have to agree and I'm pretty liberal. It is legal in U.S., they're selling it in head shops everywhere and it needs to stop. I've seen the news story people attacking biting another's' face off - the news story around here was about 2 homeless men.

But I think the difference is if they're smoking it. Venus is not smoking it. And who knows what really is in this stuff they're selling in stores here.

A few years ago, my daughter screaming from in her room, she had a couple friends over. I almost had to break the door down. Screamed at these little idiots what the F did you give her?? She's rolling around on her bed terrified & thinking she's falling off "the giant table" (?) Her "high" was over quickly, and friends admitted they brought over Salvia and were smoking it with her.

That's what I know about it... Be informed, people, search for info and make your own self-educated decision.

It's not illegal in every state and the horror stories are outrageous to say the least lol. If it's actual salvia it's safe. Great for tea and spices, and yes you can smoke it too. But this isn't the zombie stuff lol.

I meditate regularly, but for now I can't afford therapy (and I doubt there's even decent therapists here in countryside. Will see in Prague).

Just seeking more tools. Why not the witch herb? Mind you, I know herbs. I am pretty informed, not just picking random herbs out there.

yeahhh... the government tested drugs brought from other countries. they are negated after testing(typically--kinda like when they test on rats and then oops theyre dead), and then, reformulated and legally sold illegally... at gas stations. so, sure it could possibly not or just so possibly bbe the drug itself...as long as you get it from a hippy youre ok. too bad you cant get coca plant seeds online. Id sprinkle that on my food too. Well, just dry them out first and then crackle them up like a bay leaf. (but bay leaves are poisonous) salt needed. I put hemp into perforated wax paper and drink it as tea, then, Id put shrooms(they are organic) into my blender before stirring them into my yogurt, along with chia seeds.. After breakfast, I am ready for some healthy organic food experiences. I assume you aren't on here for mental health reasons? maybe you NEED the spiritual experience

So, sure. **** with your brain. see what happens. Those of us, whom have had periods of insanity not brought through what you talk about as if it is basil, may feel a bit adept to the idea... good luck! Maybe you have found your cure all.

Ok, so remembering now from college horticulture days - salvia is sage...

Sage is used for spiritual cleansing, smudging, burning it (not smoking it as far as I know), Native American tradition, mainly White Sage. Smudging is amazing & calming & moves bad vibes away from an area. It is a healer. And a spice used in many delicious foods. There are many many types. I don't know what they're selling as "Salvia" in the smoke shops.. the kids said it was some type of powder - could have been freaking anything.

Venus, wondering which type is helping your mood?

Here is from Wikipedia:
The name Salvia derives from the Latin salvere ("to feel well and healthy, health, heal"), the verb related to salus (health, well-being, prosperity or salvation); referring to the herb's healing properties. Pliny the Elder was the first author known to describe a plant called "Salvia" by the Romans, likely describing the type species for the genus Salvia, Salvia officinalis.
The common modern English name sage derives from Middle English sawge, which was borrowed from Old French sauge, and like the botanical name, stems from Latin salvere.[5][6] When used without modifiers, the name 'sage' generally refers to Salvia officinalis ("common sage" or "culinary sage"); however, it is used with modifiers to refer to any member of the genus. The ornamental species are commonly referred to by their genus name Salvia.

Many species are used as herbs, as ornamental plants (usually for flower interest), and sometimes for their ornamental and aromatic foliage. A selection of some well known species is below..........
Ok, so my next point - Indie's right it was not Salvia, it was someone smoking "Spice" or "Bath Salts" who then ate the guy's face off.

Seems like these smoke shops are selling kids or anyone "Spice" & it's some mixture of bath salts, salvia & who knows what else. Rat poison maybe.

They better not outlaw all Sage over this Spice business.

By the leaves is officialis. Not entirely sure, it never gotten into bloom, thanks to harsher climate of here I didn't bought the seeds, gotten 'em from other plant grower (I live in freaking VILLAGE after all).

We call it "hag's ear" in Czech.

Made cup of tea before sleep (mixed with holy basil, lemon balm, mint and lime tree blooms). Calm dreams. Right now some memories are coming back. New York. Montenegro. Uni days. My childhood. Despite all, I seems I had pretty good life. I been forgetting that lately, trying to do some "trauma work" by myself.

Mental... I don't think it's cure. Just something that is accidentally helping And what makes you think I need therapist? I said I meditate. I try things. Responsibly. I studied old herbaries and the net. And I take Salvia as serious herb at the moment. It's the witch herb. I know it's powerful.
(I do treat all herbs with respect, but that'd be for another thread).

Thats great! Just weary about it in the US bc it is now illegal. I do find it ridiculous to me. That's why you just sont lknow what u are getting depending on the source. Europe-- different story-- and yes are they going to our law sage!? I hope you do s pecw through whatever means! It's just so sad some of the things our country deems unfit.i below w pharmeceutical companies have much to so w this. So then it's almost as if u MUST take certain doc prescribed drugs to function. Well if you have certain consitions. Good luck!
