I'm being forced to change pdocs. They will get my file from my old one. i hope they don't change my dignosis as I think this one really fits. I like my old pdoc. I guess I have the right to change back, right? Right?

Why are you being forced to change? Is your current Pdoc moving or changing positions etc? In general Pdocs can choose to not see a patient any longer same as a T can ... Same as we can change Pdocs or T's

Many getting more visits is what you need and your Pdoc is only looking out for you.

Change can be hard, but it can also be good. I hope this is a good change for you even if it is tough in the beginning. Plus, it sounds like having access to more appointments is a really good thing!

I think having more visits available to you is worth at least trying things out. I would think you could change again if it doesnt work out. I personally have gone through 5 pdocs in 7 yrs because they either moved or retired, I fired one. My latest one is a woman and so far I like her best of the bunch. Also, when I've had an episode I have really needed those extra visits.

Well you are a high risk... you have great difficulty dealing with your intrusive thoughts and type here alot about OD'ing at times ... So them wanting to keep your meds makes sense. They want to keep you safe

I think they're just trying to keep you out of the psych er. Being high risk is not doing well.

In the support group I used to go to, some of the people there had a spouse or parent who would keep their meds locked up and would only fill up one of those weekly med boxes for them so they wouldn't impulsively take too much meds. I think these people who you are talking about are trying to be that accountability for you, to keep you safe. If you don't have all your meds there with you in your home, you can't impulsively take them all.

No but the box has enough meds to o.d. Its pointless.

That said i feel ok. High risk because of what happened or not.

Then you need a smaller box. Thus less pills you have available to you.

When your Pdoc is willing to hold your meds .. trust me they know you are at risk . They want you stable so you can go about living your life with your children and be happy. Look at this as a blessing not a curse.
