our lives seem to have so many parallels.

i'm so glad to know I'm not alone. i always felt so alone in the world. like an alien.

It's a great place to be able to talk about things we can't get others to understand and here people understand because we've been there. It's nice to have a safe place.

Its nice to have some people that relate. But Im finding it more and more frustrating and sad. I find myself getting agitated to the point I have to close the site. Perhaps Im not in the right place to be on here at the moment. But I like to offer support and ideas to those who are suffering when so many had helped me when I was.

I just went for a while not getting on here. I have been making huge strides in my treatment, and I have been really focusing on that, but I have realized that being on here is a very important part of my treatment. My wife for example, as much as I love her, and as much as she has put up with, she must love me so much, but she has no idea what my experience is like. I try to talk to her about the experiences and it eludes her entirely. On here, I can write something like 'black manic episode ended in hurting myself and suicidal ideations' and someone is likely to write back 'one of those nights, huh?'... The relief of getting those kinds of replies is impossible to describe! I 2nd the user above who said they'd never felt understood before. This place is amazing, I want to be back on everyday.
Thanks PC, and thanks to all the friends on here!!!

Its more that people are not getting basic good treatment from their doctors. Things like diet and lifestyle can have a huge affect on mood but patients are getting medicated to the eyeballs when their problems are much easily fixed in a less intrusive way. Many people diagnosed with "Bipolar" are struggling with emotional regulation but again they are overmedicated and told that meds are the only answer. These patients then are not open to other ideas that could well change their lives. Frustrates me to no end!
