Hi y'all - I've been absent for, well, months at this point. Things got a little demanding what with finishing up the dissertation and all that.

But I'm pleased to say that I'm now Dr. Maniac and just started my postdoc job yesterday (with a very big pay raise!) I also got a university-wide dissertation award, which was pretty gratifying.

Everything is pretty stable on the bipolar front and I started DBT in late April. I'm not 100% keen on it but I'm trying to give it a fair shot. After the horrible snafu with ADD meds back in February/March, I finally got a new psych who's much better than the old one. Hopefully that drama is over for the time being.

All things considered, I probably won't be around here much in the future. The pace of life is picking up with the new job and it's all I can do to keep up with the basics. I miss the people here but there are only so many balls anyone can keep in the air at a time. I have to pick and choose how I'm going to focus my attention, and it seems I can handle either forums or blogging. I've really come to enjoy blogging and it fits where I am with my life right now, so that's where I plan to put my energy for the time being.

I wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive and doing pretty well. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support and kindness the PC community showed me when I was first diagnosed and trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I'll probably pop in from time to time, but not often or predictably. You're always welcome to wander over to my blog (http://disorderlychickadee.wordpress.com) and leave a comment.

Thanks for all the awesome, folks!

Always a pleasure to hear from you and looking forward to future posts, AniManiac. You're certainly right, there are only so many balls one can keep in the air, so it's very understandable. Know though that you will be missed in your absences, and thought of often, my doppleganger!

As for kindness and support? Right back atcha! Reading your blog? As always!

Big congratulations and good luck with your new job (oooh, big pay raise --yea!). Rooting you on, and always here for you...
Thanks for this!
