Hello All,
I haven't been around for a while due to a life that is too busy, but a good busy most of the time. I am having a great school year with the current crop of students.
Right now, though, I have plenty of sit-around time because I broke my leg recently (fibula) and had to have an operation. I am only using crutches and a knee walker get around until next week (hopefully). Right now, I am not able to put any weight on the leg/foot. In trying to find the good with this, I guess it is a good time to be inside considering the major freeze on the east coast of the US. There are super low temps here and I live in the southeastern part of the country! While watching the Australian Open recently, I was very jealous of the warm weather some of you are enjoying.
And my mental health-it has been shaky lately. My psychologist has been identifying parts of me that are out of control. There is no sugar-coating with this t. I have been so angry with her at times, unfortunately she is pretty much right, though. I told my pdoc at my last visit that I was going to try to cut down some on the zyrtec in my meds cocktail. She asked that I only try to cut down by a third until our next visit and to keep her informed. Instead, I cut back week by week until I had eliminated the drug. I didn't call the pdoc. Meanwhile, I was falling apart emotionally. I have since gone back to the zyrtec, after a major emotional episode with the broken leg and also the loss of a friend in a freak accident. I was determined to go med-free, but it didn't happen this time. I will try again after more physical and mental healing.
That's about all.
Take Care!

Ouch! Sorry about your leg. It's a shame your mental health had to go down, too. But sounds like you have been under a lot of stress. Probably not the time to cut down on a medication. You can always try again when things are smoother.

BM its soooo GOOD to see you!!!

I'm sorry its under shytti circumstances though

My condolences to you for the loss of your friend

I hope your leg heals up nice and fast, but in the mean time you can hang out here to help pass the time

I too think the timing was just not right for a med tapering, too much going on all at once. The type of stuff you're dealing with would make the Hulk cave, so please be proud of how you have been handling everything thus far.

I've missed you

Random...I love the knee walker. I broke my ankle bad last year and it gave me so much mobility.

Again off topic, I would not have known about these had a coworker not broken her leg earlier in the year! Out of boredom, I have a travel path through my kitchen/dining room/family room. This is so sad that this is entertainment for me these days. I just can't stand sitting still all of the time, and right now it is 14 degrees outdoors.

Good to see you! Sorry about the friend and the leg and shaky mental health…
Hope you heal quickly …and that the weather warms up(!)
(I agree with yourself and the others that the timing for a med taper was less-than-optimal. That's ok, sometimes it just is. )

So sorry to hear about your leg, operation, loss of your friend. You are going through a lot & anger is expected, take it easy on yourself & focus on healing like you are.

I'm so happy to see you back here.
