I read somewhere recently that people affected with bipolar often have strong interests in zombie movies comics etc. And xenomorphs (alien). The movie aliens has been my favourite film since I was young, have all the books comics games and that. And zombies, love anything with zombies, hell I even have my tool kit ready for them lol. Anyway I read this is common to be interested in similar things due to anxieties about death or perhaps odd perceptions possibly to do with the whole death brings new life thing. Was wondering if anyone else had an opinion on this? Id hate to think that my fav movie is that because im ill. Thanks

I'm actually unrealistically afraid of these things and firmly believe an apocalypse from one or the other will happen eventually. Everyone else will argue with me on it but it's never swayed my opinion

Well, I loved Zombieland (twinkies!) and Warm Bodies and of course Shaun of the Dead!
I also had my own theories about aliens when I was 12 yrs old, I believe they exist. Close Encounters of the Third Kind is an awesome movie. Can't say I go much for the more violent of the genres though.
Oh! I absolutely love Resident Evil movies!

Everyone loved zombies! Cute zombies, and scary zombies. Lots of zombies in my town, little old people who have worked their lives away and are waiting their turn to go to the glue factory.

I think its our evolution anxiety. We have a drive to evolve as a species. We feel it as Individuals. We loom to the heavens for an image of what we might wish to be, ángel or ET. We look to the graves to sorry that what we have been (human history is appallingly cruel) and are afraid.

As we get more scared of our own brutal technology, our aliens get scarier and more reptilian.

I don't think that's why it is, if that is any consolation.
Thanks for this!

I've never cared for xenomorphs or zombies, and I generally dislike science-fiction. @Side2Side -- are you quoting a research article/something from a journal? It would be interesting to see the source.

Nah no proper thing, it was on deviantart.com the bipolar art was filled with xenos and found a couple comments in regards, this is all personal opinions no scientific evidence. The zombie thing was an article I read here on pc.
I disliked the res evil movies because I am a huge fan of the games and the movies had very little to do with them, the story is so different it actually makes me very angry lol.

I don't like zombies or aliens much. I love watching special effects reels for scifi films. I'm super interested in how they make everything! But I heavily prefer to watch comedies and cute things lol also Buffy. Buffy was great

I've always loved vampires, since I was a little girl actually, researched folklore like mad for years. In recent years my brother has gotten me interested in zombies, and so far I've enjoyed most of what I've watched, Resident Evil being my favourite.

I refuse to believe my tastes and preferences are due to diagnosis. I like what I like. End of story.
