Hi, my experience with Benedryl if you take more than the recommended dosage it acts like speed (at least for me) I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin and there is nothing I can do to make it go away. Ideally you should ask your doctor for a sleeping aid like Ambien. In a pinch, if you have klonopin or another benzo and take it with the melatonin it helps. In addition to all the pharmaceutical options I also will drink camomile tea, listen to soothing music, read a mindless book like Fifty Shades, practice breathing to slow my heart down and meditation. If I've laid in bed for tho hours and have not fallen asleep, I'll get out of bed and find something on TV that is hypnotic but not obnoxious. If it is really bad I'll soak in the tub with chamomile, Jasmine, and Lavander essential oils. This usually does the trick.
Good luck! ![]()

That sucks there is a bunch of other things you can try there is something I kind of came across I couldn't sleep for hours and was just laying in bed and started to stretch and it felt amazing and I kept stretching and stretching and my body was becoming extremely relaxed and more relaxed and tired and idk when I drifted into a huge sleep maybe you can try that or masturbation or sex I mean that can make u tired but look up a bunch of things and try it might aswell

I deal for Insomnia and have since I was about 11-12 .. Im 46 ! The only thing I have learned for all these years is I must lay down and force myself to stay there so at least my body is horizontal .. I think boring thoughts as much as possible , breathing exercises and meditation .. Its not like real sleep but it allows the muscles of my body to rest .

Zopiclone works really well, and the only side effect is a metallic taste in the mouth. I have insomnia too, but what happens to me is I fall asleep OK, but then I wake up ay 3, and can't fall asleep again until 5. I would take zopiclone, but my work does random drug screens and it is on the not allowed list because I think it tests positive as a benzo. I'd be on a different combo of meds if my pdoc could prescribe what she wants to. I have to take seroquel for sleep, and it doesn't work very well.
