Hey! I was on 400mg Seroquel but after a very bad depressive period and an equally extreme hypomanic episode they increased my dose to 800mg. I suspect that I am bipolar II, but right now I'm still a little hypomanic (I'm cycling). Is this normal for bipolar II patients? I also have had one hallucination today and a lot of visual disturbances the last weeks (seeing movements and shadows and lights). I thought the Seroquel would take care of all this.

I am also on Lamictal 200mg, Mianserin 20mg (an analogue to Mirtazepine), and Buspar 20mg PRN.

I'm on seroquel too but not that high. Its just making me tired and not helping the real symptoms. Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone.

800mg is a pretty high dose of Seroquel. If you're still getting that many breakthrough symptoms, especially continued psychotic features, it may be time to talk to your doctor about a different atypical anti-psychotic because it sounds like it's just plain not working.
