Shoot! Just when I get ahead, my Mania gets the best of me, not to mention the holidays. I had just started a decent savings and now I've dwindled to nothing due to my compulsive spending habits. How do some of you manage this disorder of your disease??? I really need to hear how you cope because I'm not getting the picture. Every time my theraphist and I go over it, he says stop spending on others, so I spend on my self !!! Whoops.

What a Lolo head, haha. Pls feedback. Thank you ahead of time.

Hello I hope things get better for you soon. Can you have someone else hold your money or oversee your money. Compulsive shopping is hard to stop. Maybe your therappist can help you with managing your money, or put you on an allowance for the week, and teach you how to overcome some of your compulsions about spending. I hope things work out for you soon. Take care sincerely Soidhonia

When I start showing signs of mania I increase my anti-psychotic for a week (as my pdoc has told me to do in the past) & it subsides. I do miss the mania terribly, but the consequences financially can be devastating, plus I usually fall into a depression afterwards so maybe an adjustment in the meds is needed.--Suzy

Leilee,

Did you write this for me, as it describes me to a T!!
In fact, the same thing happened to me, but I spent it on others!!
My husband keeps telling me I need to save but I don't know why I do it.
I am not on any kind of med for it as I haven't told anyone in the medical field of this problem. I just figured it was something I have to learn but can't seem to help myself. While I'm buying, I know that I shouldn't but it's like something takes over and says, go ahead, it's ok.
Then afterwards, I am so depressed!! I am on two different depression meds but when I do something like this, you wouldn't know it.
So, I'm sorry I can't help you. I do hope things get better for you, though,
Linda
