I am always having up and down SI I have not worked in 2 weeks and no prospect of returning at this time. I considered disability but that would end my nursing career if I ever got better and wanted to return

Has anyone done genetic testing. I am going to do this as well

From websites;
The following symptoms, anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, insomnia, irritability, hostility, aggressiveness, impulsivity, akathisia (psychomotor restlessness), hypomania, and mania, have been reported in adult and pediatric patients being treated with antidepressants for major depressive disorder as well as for other indications, both psychiatric and nonpsychiatric. It should be noted that VIIBRYD is not approved for use in treating bipolar depression.

Viibryd has been a life saver for me. It has anti psychotic properties so its not supposed to be able to make you manic. Its expensive but the only anti depressant that did not throw me into a mania plus its weight neutral. My Dr was completely willing to double my dose with out stressing.

The only issue for me is that if I miss a dose I get this wave of pain that goes from the front of my head down my spine. I feel like I'm going to die and sounds like I'm under water for a couple of seconds. It leaves me with a head ache all day. For me the waves are in a set of 3 and it lasts less then a minute total. So I remember to take it daily.

I also have an antipsychotic prn for when I have symptoms like yours so I can avoid hospital stays. Do you have an anti psychotic prn?

I am on geodon 80mg 2x day. I have bp2, gad, depression and ptsd. I have found geodon to be a true lifesaver. It is the only drug that lifted me out of my severe depression. How long have you been on geodon? I had to give it about a.month to get the right therapeutic results. I tried so many other meds but meds but geo is the best. I was doing so good on it that my pdoc and I tried to go down a bit in dosage as it's best to be on lowest dose possible. It was just a test to see b how much I really needed. It turned out that I seriously needed the 80...we tried 60 2x. So long story short the drug proved to be very effective at 80 2x day.. no higher and no lower. You'll have to find the best doee for you. Why can't you see a.pdoc without going to the hospital? That seems odd to me but be open to the idea. If things get really bad you should consider going. Have you ever been to the hosptal before? I found it to be extremely helpful as I had a pdoc right by my side finding out the best needs and best doses. I understand yr being hesitant to go but it can be a life saving option. I hope I've helped you. Let me know. :-)

No I don't but I was not having any mania or other symptom until I started this med. Some meds work differently on people. I am doing genetic testing next because my bipolar has been so difficult to control

I do not think the Geodon is the problem. I think the Viibryd is I quit that one today. I am taking the Geodon. I live in rural area. If my dr was the hospital dr this weekend I would hear from him. He is medical director of hospital and clinic. I am on 80 mg 2 x daily of Geodon. Has that been weight neutral for you.

Thank you for the replies. I was really starting to get very worried. This episode of the depression/mania has been the worst ever. It is hard for me to do as I am told when I know it isn't working right. So I stopped what I think the one most likely until tomorrow.
