What do you do if your moodswings go on a hiatus? (doesn't look like the last word is on the title for some reason.)

For the first time in a long time I'm not having any type of a mood swing dictating what I'm going to do today and I feel lost! What the hell? I get to Choose what kind of day I'm going to have? Wow! Ok....hmmmm, never been asked that question before. Huh...What DO I like to do?? It's been awhile since I haven't had someone or some mood telling me what to do! I know what I NEED to be doing, but there's no force behind me now pushing me to do it! Anyone else ever have days like this?

My depression is on hiatus due to a medication change. I feel pretty normal and don't know what to do with myself. Like you, I have stuff I need to do but don't feel like it. I don't remember either what I like to do. Most of it is outside stuff which it's still too cold for. Can't wait for spring if I'm not going to be depressed.

I'm ready for spring too so I can come out of hibernation! All I've managed to do today is bag up the trash & play Tertius with the dishwasher trying to make it all fit. Now I'm back on my butt eating Oreos, trying to figure out what to do next!

I so much agree! With depression, I get driven to the bed or the couch; with mania, I usually have several things I'm doing at once; with "normal", I am so bored of doing nothing but can not think of any thing I want to do!

The reason the last word (hiatus) is cut off is because the title is longer than the character limit. Hope that helps!

Onto subject, I miss mania. I've been mostly mania-free for a while now (about 6 months) and I just can't get nearly as much done as I used to during those times.

To be quite honest, I don't feel like Michael (that's me) when I don't have those elevated highs and the lows. I definitely don't miss full-blown mania but I do miss the hypomania that helped me to excel in College.

Feels like there's something missing to be honest!

It's a strange feeling to realize you miss part of an illness isn't it? We spend all our lives trying to get a handle on this thing and when it's not controlling us, it's like, where did out go?
Thanks for this!

I've been feeling like I've not been driven by moods for a long time because I've been stable on meds. I don't like this very much, I find moods very helpful when I need to do something and I'm in the mood. I prefer to have my moods back, which is why I'm trying to go as long as I can without meds and only take them when I need to.
