Anyone else have a habit of just getting up and moving house on a regular basis?
Had an argument with my flatmate about 2 weeks ago. We've had a talk and sorted things for now, but I just can't stop obsessing whenever there is an incident like this. I feel the urge to just pack up and take off, and when I'm impulsive, I'll just do it. I want to settle down so badly but I just can't seem to let myself stay anywhere. I can't handle anyone knowing the full extent of what I go through, but I also cannot face the thought of living alone, because at least if there are other people around I can't go too far off the deep end unchecked. Feels like a catch 22. |

Last week I was ready to quit my job, pack up my husband and pets and whatever stuff I could fit in the trunk of my car, and run away as far as a few tanks of gas could take us. I still feel like that, even though I know damn well I won't do it. I have roots in this town, and I've lived in my house for 11 years. But I do a lot of job-hopping and am already wanting to quit the one I started in January, so I can empathize with you.

Off medication our longest stay in a state was a year and we'd go through at least 4 apartments in a year spending at least a month or more homeless looking for places. We spent a lot of time without one utility or another often just waiting for the sheriff's office to get around to us. This is how we know it takes 2months to evict someone and then the serriff may not get around to you for months. We just couldn't keep it together even with assistance. No one of our family knew we moved around more than once a year but they have been shocked we have been in the same complex for 4 years. We're shocked that we have utilities most of the time.
This is the first place I've ever unpacked and had more than a microwave, laptop, load worth of clothing, and small bag of art supplies. We always had a portable playpen and a junk mattress that we could leave. yes I've been desperate to move but we have stuff we want to move, we want a place to move to that will accept our dog, we want money to freely move, so we can decorate, have utilities turned on in our name as soon as we move, pdoc, t and gp. All that takes massive amount of time. Do you have a therapist? Mine keeps me in check with my goals and mood.

I've felt like moving a lot lately. We just bought a house in August, but I'm ready for us to both declare bankruptcy, rent a uhaul, and just take what we can pack with us and go to Arizona. I know this is unrealistic, but with us as far into debt as we are, it is definitely a tempting idea. I just keep reminding myself that I can't handle being without insurance and a pdoc and T.
