I see a lot of other mood stabilizers out there, but is anyone having any results with Tegretol? I have been on it for about 5 months now, but only at a therapeutic dose for 2 months. I feel like it is a positive drug for me, I have not had many manic symptoms. But I'm having to take two anti depressants with it. Just fishing for others opinions, Thanks!

I take it but I don't feel better on it. Maybe a little better but nothing compared to how Lamictal worked for me.

I take Tegretol, but for me it works better paired with Abilify. Maybe that is what you need?
Thanks for this!

Tegretol has basically saved my life. It pulled me out of a deep depression, and helps me function in society.
Thanks for this!

I take Tegretol (not at a therapeutic dose yet) with Lamictal and it has pulled me out of the black depression I was in for a year.

I've been on Tegretol for over 10 years now with good results. I like it. I'm on 1600 mg a day with no side effects.

After years of docs trying me on other meds that were all wrong or made me worse, I was put on tegretol 5 months ago. It was amazing. I was having mixed episodes. I had depression along with racing thoughts, agitation and anxiety. The Tegretol stopped all the manic symptoms, the suicidal ideation and seems to be helping with the depression. I just went up to 600mg and had a rought time with the doasge increase. It's amazing that one drug seems to handle all the symptoms.

Hey there,

I am having mixed episodes myself and am going to the doctor tomorrow. I am more depressed and my anxiety and agitation is high. It's like my brain is misfiring and I can't function but I sure can beat myself up and feel worthless, etc.

I was given advice to try Tegretol and wondered what you meant by having a rough time with the dosage increase? Thanks and I hope you are having a good day today.

I'm like scottart123. Definitely pulled me out of a year long deep depression. I find as I go up now I have a bad week after and I'm only at 300. I get very hypomanic and now nauseous as well plus I don't sleep as well.

Best of luck!
