I'll lay it out straight here, I've been depressed/harmful to myself for a while now. My grandmother is a tyrant, she is an emotionally manipulative b***h! I do not want to be around her this coming week. I've been suicidal without her around. Chances are, she's going to make me worse. In fact, I'm positive she will make me worse.

I've got an appointment with my therapist on Monday and I was going to spill all the beans and tell him my plan(s) I had/have for suicide. But then I learned she was coming into town. I may lie to my T about still having a lot of very strong suicidal thoughts, to avoid the possibility of being sent to some psych place...I know that could very easily turn into a terrible decision but I will have another appointment a week later.

I really want to be honest with my therapist, but I just have a feeling that bad things will happen if I am.

I don't like the spot I'm in. I don't know what to do.

I really think you should print this out or write out a detailed note to your therapist so you can make a plan maybe seeing her more often while they are there .

I think you always need to be honest with your therapist. You can also talk about your fear and concerns about getting placed into a hospital. I think the therapist will help you by giving you some ideas, those that you have not considered.

This is a great idea. And, I also agree that you should always be honest with your therapist. It will help your therapist help you more quickly and more effectively.

Please be honest with your therapist, they can't help you if they don't know. If you aren't safe right now you need to tell someone who can help you now. Call 911 or go to the ER, please don't hurt yourself!

Hi Lobster Hands, if I wanted to avoid a less than pleasant relative and I had no support within my family I would spill the beans to the PDoc and go into the psych ward. In the hospital you can control her contact with you and you can take a short vacation from all your irritants. You can ask your Doc to put her on the not welcome list. I'm actually doing something similar. My mother is not welcome in Colorado while I am in intensive outpatient therapy. Her prescience would be detrimental to my success in therapy.

Calm down your mind. Suicide is nt even in the choice for you. Change your environment. Use incense sticks, restrain from getting into new activities and get into a nice place which calms down your mind. Use incense sticks. It helps me a lot. After doing that, read this same thread. You ll have a different way of looking at things

Yeah if you want to avoid the *****, inpatient sounds like a great idea... especially if you are sui???? Obviously your meds are messed up since you posted earlier about toxicity? Sounds like your doc could use some help in treating you and seeing a different one(s) in the hospital might be a good thing.

Thanks, a detailed note would be a good idea, because I always forget what I'm going to tell my therapist anyways.

Maybe I'll just ask for no visitors period.
