I have a friend who went to her pdoc and he gave her some relaxation techniques that worked for her. She says she almost fell asleep. I want the techniques! Problem is that, perhaps because she's going through a major depressive stage, she doesn't want to share her methods.
I'd like to know what methods you use that doesn't involve the chanting and transcendental levels of traditional meditation.

I like guided meditation. Someone guides you through imagining you're on. A each or walking In the woods or something. They have a lot on YouTube.
