Hello,
I am having such a rollercoaster ride with my bi polar. No brakes..scarey ride, sometimes almost out of control. Internet buying is my "drug of choice". I am home all day with my home-school daughter, not able to do much physical work due to my physical health, so internet is my best friend.......enemy to our credit cards though!!!

Homeschooling is really hard when things are rough and your cycling. Have you found a system for her to use when things are bad for you? Does she go to any co-ops or is she part of any homeschooling groups? Or after school things?

But welcome to the board.

PS. I homeschoolmy son.

Maybe you should let your husband have the credit cards when you are feeling out of control. My daughter froze hers in a bowl of water to help keep her from using them.

I've also heard of wrapping it over and over in tape.

Not sure if it would work though
Thanks for this!

Home schooling would be so challenging being bp do I commend you! My daughter asked if I would and I just knew I couldn't. She has anxiety and stuff but I had to say no. Sounds horrible but it's true. She understands my illness and that I can't take on too many responsibilities or I'll flounder. As far as buying things on the internet give yr cards to yr husband to be safe...that is if yr married. I would find it addictive too. Thankfully I don't make much money and every penny goes to my bills. If I bought stuff on the internet I'd have no money for rent. I hope things get better for you. Hang in there. Just try and think that the money you are spending could be saved. Then once you've saved some reward yr self and buy one item. Just an idea. Take care. :-)

I can't believe you homeschool! I could never - and I'm a teacher! Just being stuck home all day every day I would go bonkers. But then my son is only three.

Anyway the internet buying can be a serious problem! My problem is that I have a visa debit card, so I can't just freeze it in ice or whatever. And my card is stored on amazon and iTunes! I bought soooo many books in my last hypo episode. And songs...

But thankfully my episodes only last a couple of weeks so I don't do too much damage before i flip and realize what I've spent.

Anyway welcome to PC.

That Amazon! I dislike the "one click" purchase. This makes it all too convenient. And they have most everything I am looking for. So I do not even have to make the effort to go out and purchase it in a store. I complained about this convenience. I never received a reply from them. LOL

We do go to home school outings, she does dance. I don't currently have a great system for her when I am in a state...my mom comes up and helps. Thank you.
