I think my brain is trying to shut my body down. I'm all over but I'm feeling tired but my brain won't fully shut off. I'm scared that my psychiatrist is going to put me on lithium. I don't know why it scares me so much, but there it is out in the open. Thats the first part of dealing with it right? I'm thinking a nap n may be in order so my brain will stop.

all drugs have side effects, every, single, one.
Not everybody gets them though. I've been on 1200mg of lithium for 6 months and I have no side effects at all.

I was scared too, I only agreed months later when I felt at ease with the decision.
Turns out I was right to be scared, but I won't share my horror story with you ( I had very uncommon side effects ) because it may just be what you need.

I think it is healthy to be scared of medications, but that doesn't mean you should reject them out of hand. Talk to you Pdoc and explain how you feel about them, there are other mood stabilizes. Your doc can discuss these with you. If a med is needed it's better to talk about the choices available so you can feel more positive about the experience.
