I got up at about 8 watched a little tv with the wife then we went and got our daughter and took her to her therapy session. After we took her back to school we went and had a very nice lunch. After lunch I took my son out to look for his very first car. Boy what a busy fun day and to think less than two weeks ago I could hardly get off the couch.

I went into my mothers bedroom to see how she was doing. I checked her music player to see if it is working. Then I offered to take her out for ice cream. Oh yes, I took a shower today early and now I am going to bed early.

I like this thread. My counselor has an activity I sometimes do (when I remember) called "ACE". It stands for Achievements, Connections to Others, and Enjoyment.

The way I use it (and you can use it any way) is to think about what you've done during the day that gave you a sense of achievement, the feeling of connecting to others, or a sense of enjoyment.

Some days I list out everything that fits each category, sometimes I only focus on the "best" one for the day. I try to rank them on a scale of 1-10. Like going to work is a 5 at minimum in the achievement category because I have to keep my job so even if I'm miserable here, I made it here. My goal is to have at least 1 "5" per day on my bad days. On my good days I try to get 3, "5"s or at least 2 "7"s. Totally random goals, but something for me to focus on.

On that note, sorry, that was a major tangent.....

So far today (it's only 9:30am) I helped get my kids off to daycare while my 2 1/2 yr old threw a major tantrum because I wouldn't hold her and I did NOT lose my patience with her! That's a big deal for me

Starting, I like that idea.

It would be a really helpful way to reflect on the day last thing before bed.

Took daughter to school on time, went and had my mri done which I hate doing then took my daughter out to eat los bravos her favorite, cleaned a bit and did some laundry. Overall a pretty productive day. Probably has something to do with not sleeping a wink last night....

Today I gave a good friend a call back when she texted "You wouldn't believe the week I've had." I felt tired, exhausted, but I was still a good friend and gave her a little peer to peer; in the end, we made each other laugh and I was glad I reached out, even when I wanted to isolate.

Beer? Sounds good to me!

I accomplished everything on my task list of two tasks. I signed up for vocational rehabilitation (OMG!), I did not blow up at my mother and instead helped her. Twice!

One foot in front of the other even though I feel like I can't go on: walked the dogs and load of laundry so far. Will be going to an AA meeting too, to get out of the house and around people.

It was pretty vague

I stayed at work. That is a big deal because I'm having a very low day and didn't think I'd make it. I missed 4 of the 9 hours, but I'm still here!

I felt depressed last night after the fajita and beer so tonight I'm going to be good and just have the beer.

I walked for 15 minutes outside. I saw the International Space Station go across the sky. And I commiserated with my neighbor about her financial woes. I did not bother to bring up my own.

I composed verse, for the first time in more than a year.

Forced myself out of bed, did dishes and a load of laundry. I will be going to an AA meeting later, get gas and go out to dinner with my husband and another couple late this afternoon (for perch - - my favorite!).

Worked up the nerve to call about outpatient programs, first had wrong number, then got a disconnected number, then got cut off....but I did call three times.

Made myself (ready-made) lasagna in the oven. First time I've made anything resembling a proper meal in over 2 weeks!

I waited to tell the neighbor that I needed to pay her less every week. She was crying over how much money of theirs her son threw down the toilet in one day at the casino.
