I do that. My wife goes to "quiet time" before me and I listen to music or watch videos with the headphones on, it's great for everyone.

Loud noise from the TV is bad for me as well. Where I work at the nurses station is in the center of the cross section of the hallways. Right in front of the nurses station is a common room with a TV in. So not only do you get the chit chat from the people in the common room you have the noise of the TV blended into it. It just makes me want to scream! Talk about noise overload!!

Also plus not to mention the call light board ringing noise, it is the most obnoxious noise ever!
Thanks for this!

haha I love your duct tape comment! The bings drive me mad, too! screaming children, the rattle of grocery cart wheels. So my husband does our shopping (most of it). I can handle small thrift shops & bookstores. Noise bothers me 24/7--whether I'm in a super manic state or not. My condition is mostly manias, irritable depressions when they happen & OCD with seizures (3 kinds, petit mal, atonic/drop & temporal lobe seizures). I know a guy with Asperberger's--he is highly intelligent & a successful professor but he will fall to the floor screaming in a noisy grocery store. So his wife does all their shopping!

For me the worst is the bing bing on cars. After five or six bings I have to get out of the car and walk away to where I can't hear it anymore.

The sound of basketballs on concrete activates my rage trigger.

Screaming children in the store. If I pass them I say duct tape!High pitched, repetative sounds are the worst, but I've read that a lot of people can't stand to hear other people eating.
