I noticed a small patch of hive looking red spots. Problem and the reason I don't want to jump the gun and call pdoc is this spot is in between my breasts which sometimes gets a heat rash, but i'm supposed to up my dose of lamictal to 50 mg tonight. Should I still call my pdoc or should I give it a day or two to see if it clears up?

Call your doctor. It may be nothing, but wouldn't you rather know for sure?

Look up pictures of SJS. I thought I had it. But an Urgent Care doctor showed me the pictures. My rash was nothing like it. But to be careful, I would call the pdoc.

I really don't think it would hurt to have it checked out. I'm on lamictal and I got a serious rash so went to the dermatologist. He ended up taking a biopsy of the affected skin, and it turned out not to be a rash from lamictal. I was glad I had it checked out though because I really wanted to stay on the lamictal for mood stabilization.

I checked out some pictures. mine kindda looks like the milder versions red/pink slightly raised random oblong shaped areas. Is there anything else that comes along with the rash? It doesn't itch or anything.

Dude just get to a dermatologist quick. Pdoc will prob just freak out and tell you to stop it. At least that is my experience. I am on lamictal and have had several rashes (being a human and all) and none of them have been Lamictal. I don't tell my pdoc anymore. I have a fantastic relationship with my dermatologist. I have his medical cell phone.

The odds of it being THE rash are crazy small. This is probably not it but you always need to get it checked out.

I was just at my derm last week because I broke out around my mouth and it my mouth. Turned out to be mangos not lamictal!

Get into a derm. Tell them it is urgent. I would not go to an ER or urgent care. I have been there done that and they generally do not have experience with it and will just tell you to stop it.

Lamictal is awesome! Fight for it! Get to the derm!

I still think you should get it looked at but I will tell you what my derm says. He says that if it is THE rash it will move fast. It will not get better. He usually tells me to put cortaid ointment on it and see how it is the next day. If it gets better or goes away I let him know and that is usually that.

Thanks. I don't have a dermatologist to go to so thats a little difficult. It hasn't changed since I've noticed it last night. I'm supposed to step up my dose to 50 mg tonight so i'm gonna call my pdoc and see if they still want me to. I hate meds.

Good luck. I had a rash on the lamictal, and went to the ER and the doc said it was probably the beginnings of SJS. It looked like the google images, and started in oblong patches on my legs, that started out red and turned purpley/black, and the patches grew bigger in days.

It didn't itch, but hurt like a burn. I had been sitting with my laptop on my lap for a while so I thought I had burned myself, but it wasn't that. It wasn't a burn, just a purple rash that felt like a burn.

Since it was just the beginning, I was lucky and when I stopped the lamictal cold turkey right away, the patches didn't get any bigger, and eventually healed and went away. I don't even have scars.

The ER didn't do anything for me except tell me to stop the lamictal. They said to take benadryl but that did nothing. They told me to come back if the patches kept getting bigger or if it spread to my mucous membranes. I took pictures of it and the pdoc said it looked like SJS too.

Its gone down in pinkness and swelling. I do think it is just a heat rash. Haven't called anyone yet. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Hello Tigersassy: YES... call you doc whether pdoc, GP or whomever!!! I had Lamictal rash. If caught early it's no big deal. But if it's let go, it can be life threatening! Don't mess around waiting to see what happens. Have it looked at. If it's nothing, no harm done...
