Sometimes I just feel like I'm so far away. I feel like I'm across a gymnasium looking at my therapist. I feel like I'm looking down at it too. I start feeling really hot all at the same time too. anyone else feel this?

I'm all over the place in therapy. What your describing is dissociation.

I do that too. One time a counsellor pointed out to me that it happened whenever we came to a topic that made me uncomfortable. It is disassociation, like miguelsmom said.

My old therapist told me I dissociated during therapy but it wasn't like that. I felt really foggy and like my emotions were turned off. It was also impossible to hold any thoughts on the subject I was avoiding.

Yes, I finally said something and it sparked a good conversation. Next time it happens, bring it up.

I feel like I can't understand anything my therapist says. I can be reasonably alright outside the room, but as soon as I'm there I just go completely blank, I can't think of anything at all or understand anything being said.

I do that when talking to my husband a lot. I know he is talking but I have no idea what he's saying. I'm looking right at him but i'm not actually listening.
Thanks for this!
