I mean really. I always get bizarre side effects to anything I try.

All this **** with my husband (he came to me for help with addiction and got out of detox today) has triggered depression, as it would for pretty much anyone. But of course I feel it deeply. It's too taxing to even breathe right now. But thankfully this only happens when the geodon stops working around 3pm.

Right, so take it twice a day instead, right? No can do. It has a delayed sedating effect for me, so three to four hours after I take it I'm dead asleep. Like slurring my words and feeling like I'm fighting the fast acting anasthetia. Obviously I can't function like that.

Also, lamictal isn't doing anything, though I've only been on 100mg for a week and a half. I'd like to stick with it BUT my vision is becoming blurry for up close things (such as posting here, hence why I'm not around very much).

I can't afford new glasses as my husband has had to quit his job to gt away from his old suppliers. I support him 100% in that decision but it totally screws us financially.

I'm just under so much stress and I can't afford to be trying yet another med and hoping it works without unbearable side effects.

Don't worry, I'm sticking with lamictal for the next couple of months to give it a chance to get to a therapeutic level. But I can't even finish this right now because I'm getting a headache from the tiny phone screen.

I just wish my body didnt hate me so much lol.

Anyway that's why I'm not around. Has anyone had this reaction to lamictal? Is it temporary?

It really does take longer than a week or two for meds to start working right. It really is frustrating. It took 5 years to get the right meds for me. I had a horrible reaction to some of the meds--rashes, fevers---the ones that were supposed to make me calm made me hyper. Don't give up!!!

I'm still on 25 mg of lamictal, if it wasn't for the latuda I'd probably be in the nut house. I too get every crazy side effect and stopped taking meds for years because of it. Told the psych nurse yesterday I wish I have relented earlier and tried these meds sooner. So far no no bad stuff.

Got my fingers crossed for both of us.

I'm pretty sensitive to meds. Abilify, even at the lowest dose wasn't a good idea.

Abilify gave me a weird slowing side effect. I knew what I wanted to say and do but I was delayed by about five seconds. Doesn't seem long but people definitely noticed!

Lamictal was the first medicine I was put on when I was diagnosed with BP. When I hit the 50mg mark I felt like a new person, even though things have changed drastically over the years. I am currently on 400mg but also have to take other meds to stabilize my moods. Most of the meds we have to use take a long time to become therapeutic, and unfortunately there are so many side affects. I have had bad side affects or they just did not do anything for me. I unfortunately have had an allergic reaction, tongue swelling and throat closing up on 5 meds now. Just give the meds some time, and if you can't handle the side effects talk to your pdoc.

BP1 mixed episodes/OCD

Lamictal 400mg
Haldol 2mg
Latuda 40mg
Klonopin 1mg
