Well, looks like I'm a bit confused. I have symptoms of mania, but that could of been caused by med change from one to another. Now on abilify for about a month or so and have restlessness constantly. Sleep 6 hours to 4 now, before was 8 or 10. On Zoloft to for depression, and anxiousness always hanging around, especially when up coming activity. However, I feel calmness too.
This diagnosing is confusing me. Anyone else have any suggestions or ideas? What the heck is going on is the reactions to meds better than full blown depression, for sure, however, not sure what to do or think about meds. Help, Grandma |

The doctor is the only one that can truly diagnose you. I would make a list of questions for the doc. Make sure you bring a current list of medicines you are taking. Doctors love that. The medicines are a very important, so don't stop taking them. All drugs have side effects. You have to take the good with the bad. It doesn't mean you have to live this way. You should call the doctor office, and make an earlier appointment. Maybe they can call you when they have a no show.
Sincerely, Piraeus

When I was on Zoloft it pushed me into a drug induced manic episode. It wasn't until I attempted suicide and ended up in the hospital did the doctors realize it was the meds that caused the manic episode. I would have to agree with Piraeus and say contact your doctor and see if it is in fact the meds causing this or if it's just a need to change your meds a bit.

Abilify and celexa threw me into terrible mixed states. Prozac alone did the same. But then I became psychotic despite the fact that trileptal had kept me stable for a few weekS.
It's hard to divide the side effects from the condition. Right now I am highly anxious and restless and agitated, which could be from lamictal but more likely is due to the stress I am under. I know that didn't help but I would say talk to your doctor and chart your moods so you can see if they are different when you take meds or not.
